Day 2

We need a better communication system because we currently have a phone based system that isn't very helpful. The system we have now doesn't fulfill its proper communication needs. For example, one can easily change the volume of the system which can prevent students from hearing the announcement when the door is closed. Other times, people can get really loud and it makes it hard for other people to listen to the announcements. Installing a better system will allow people to finally hear announcements properly and clearly and prevent those who cannot hear from missing important announcements.

The basis for installing the system would be trial and error. We currently have a "communication system" merely connected through the phones throughout the school. Technically, this is a brand-new program with an actual intercom system. Because the school is still relatively new, there has been no previous system of communication like the one we currently have.

"The intercoms mission statement is to provide quality communication and interconnect the Summit community."

Team Work

Day 1

Step 1: Determining a Project

Summit Needs:

A better communication system with proper equipment, possibly a 4 way system for all school buildings. There have been many unfortunate instances where there is a lack of communication between the school and the students. This system will hopefully fix this issue.

How:

We are planning to install a professional system that isn't the phone system we currently have.

Outcome:

This will hopefully allow the communication between the students and the school to improve. There will be no more "I didn't hear about it" or "I didn't know excuses" because the system will use an "old school microphone" to deliver the news.

Help:

Find a goo company that can supply what we are looking for. So far, we have Visiplex, Advanced Communications Incorporated and Jeron Electronic Systems. Next, we will work with administration for placement of the system. We also look for sponsors.

Materials:

Money, drills, saws, wires, intercom system, etc

Deadline:

Summer of 2015, once all buildings are completed.
